After beating The World champion the legendary Lee Sedol in 3,000 years old Go game DeepMind’s AlphaGo(AG) became the best Go Player in the World, But It looks like DeepMind team isn’t going to stop right there. DeepMind team wants to test the limits of DeepMind’s Artificial Intelligence, Because of that DeepMind will be hosting 5 days Go game festival in China.

But why Go? not Chess? well, Chess is one of the most complex game in the world but with limited moves and playing pattern, But Go game comes with infinite numbers on moves people say Go has more moves than atoms in the observable universe. —This is what makes Go the best game to test DeepMind.

Artificial intelligence has actually made human players stronger and more creative said Demis Hassabis in the blog post. That’s what exactly DeepMind team need for AlphaGo, They need more creative Go players to test the limits of AlphaGo.

“AlphaGo’s play makes us feel free, that no move is impossible. Now everyone is trying to play in a style that hasn’t been tried before.”Zhou Ruiyang, 9 Dan Professional

DeepMind will be hosting Go festival from May 23-27 in Wuzhen, China. DeepMind will be working with the China Go Association and Chinese Government to bring AlphaGo, AlphaGo with will be competing with top Chinese Go players.

There will be 4 gaming formats between AlphaGo and Chinese top players:

Pair Go:

— A game where one Chinese pro will play against another…except they will both have their own AlphaGo teammate, alternating moves, to take the concept of ‘learning together’ quite literally.

Team Go:

— A game between AlphaGo and a five-player team consisting of China’s top pro players, working together to test AlphaGo’s creativity and adaptability to their combined style.

Ke Jie vs AlphaGo:

— Of course, the centerpiece of the event will be a classic 1:1 match of three games between AlphaGo and the world’s number one player, Ke Jie, to push AlphaGo to (…perhaps beyond!) its limits.
