In TEDx Talks MYOB’s General Manager of User Experience and Product Management Leader Ben Ross said we should create guidelines to save the human race from Super Artificial Intelligence, Ben Ross believes that in the future Super Artificial Intelligence would be the biggest threat human will face.
According to Moore’s law, an observation made by intel co-founder Gordon Moore in 1960’s that in every 12 months (1 year) computing power will double. If we take a look at computing development of past 50 years it seems to be true that Gordon Moore was right. we have more computing power in our pocket right than a super computer from 1980’s.
Ben believes that development of Super Artificial Intelligence going to be really faster than we expect according to Moore’s law we will reach human-level Artificial intelligence by 2040 and Super Intelligent Artificial intelligence by 2060.
“Even if it takes twice as long — it’s going to happen in yours and my lifetime. This is a thing for our generation,” says Ross in his TED talk.
Ross said, “what if super intelligence decided that it didn’t want or need to share this planet with us or it wants to save us from ourselves and wipe us out from the planet.” This why Stephin Hawking said,

So do we really need guidelines to save humans from Super Artificial Intelligence? In his book I, Robot author Isaac Asimov wrote “Three Laws of Robotics“:
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
“We should also make guidelines for Artificial Intelligence for our own safety in future.”, said Ben Ross
